Education for children of every age in rural Northern India

November 20, 2019

In rural Rajasthan, literacy rates for women are under 20%, and half of children aged 6-14 do not attend school. Seva Mandir provide a range of educational interventions for children of every age, taking a holistic approach to childhood development.

For younger children, Seva Mandir runs Residential Learning Camps to give out-of-school

children access to basic literacy and maths skills, health checkups, basic hygiene skills (e.g. washing hands before meals) and the chance to prepare and perform a cultural show for parents and the community. For older children, Seva Mandir run a scholarship programme and work on improving education in government schools.
